“Hiking Nevado de Toluca was one of the main reasons for my trip to Mexico city. I signed up for an all day trip to do a long, high elevation, technical hike. It is over 15,000 feet elevation at the top. I understand things happen that are out of the tour operators control, like weather and injuries. However on my trip, there was only one other guest besides myself. They had very little to no experience hiking, showed up in jeans that did not fit properly and a cotton t shirt. “I would not reccomend this tour. From the moment my husband and I entered the vehicle with our guide (who was very kind), I was skeptical of the weather. However, I was emphatically reassured that the weather would hold up, that the rain would stop and that the fog would clear somewhat so we would be able to see the summit and the lagoon. When we arrived to the mountain, it was clearly still raining and the wind was blowing so hard it was rattling our vehicle. The fog was so dense you couldn't see anything below. We ended up leaving shortly afterwards and returning to our accomodation without completing…”
