“The beautiful views from the volcano were breathtaking. Our guide, Gerson, was great. When I was having trouble climbing up the volcano, he lent me his pole to help me up. He also kept up with the pace of the group, which was great because this was my first time climbing up that high and we had to slowly adapt to the altitude. It was a great experience, we will do it again!”

Hike Iztaccíhuatl from Mexico City with an alpinist guide, mountain views, high-altitude trails, and a challenging 11-hour day.

“Not a trip to the TOP of the Volcano, as the details suggest (and what I figured for the price and time allotted). But still an excellent way to hike and see the volcanoes. It would require more gear and more experience to hike to the summit. This hike is still challenging, and a good way to experience some altitude, with breath taking views! The guide was very good!”

Climb Mexico’s 4,680-meter Nevado de Toluca with guides, crater lakes, gear, lunch, and transfers from Mexico City.

“Hiking Nevado de Toluca was one of the main reasons for my trip to Mexico city. I signed up for an all day trip to do a long, high elevation, technical hike. It is over 15,000 feet elevation at the top. I understand things happen that are out of the tour operators control, like weather and injuries. However on my trip, there was only one other guest besides myself. They had very little to no experience hiking, showed up in jeans that did not fit properly and a cotton t shirt. We were provided a list of appropriate hiking gear to wear and bring, and they did not take that…”

Review of a private Nevado de Toluca hike from Mexico City, with crater lagoons, snow, high-altitude demands, transport, guides, and weather advice.

“I would not reccomend this tour. From the moment my husband and I entered the vehicle with our guide (who was very kind), I was skeptical of the weather. However, I was emphatically reassured that the weather would hold up, that the rain would stop and that the fog would clear somewhat so we would be able to see the summit and the lagoon. When we arrived to the mountain, it was clearly still raining and the wind was blowing so hard it was rattling our vehicle. The fog was so dense you couldn't see anything below. We ended up leaving shortly afterwards and returning to our accomodation without completing…”

“Truly unforgettable experience! Super cool area to hike in with great views. Our guides Luis and Gloria were really amazing - they took great care of us all the way (incl when I got altitude sickness), they were super fun and interesting to hike with, and had the experience to make us feel safe and in control all the way. After our day of hiking I would rather call them friends than guides:) If you have the money to spend I would definitely recommend this, for sure an experience I will remember for a long time.”
